Empowering Churubusco: Our Commitment to Suicide Awareness & Prevention

Welcome to the Churubusco Suicide Awareness & Prevention Task Force, a compassionate and driven 501c3 non-profit organization. Founded by community members who have experienced the devastating impact of suicide firsthand and those dedicated to making a difference, we are united in our mission to create a safer, more understanding community. Through educational initiatives, events of hope, and support for our youth, we strive to equip individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to prevent suicide and provide crucial assistance to those in crisis.

Empowering with Knowledge: Suicide Prevention Training

Our task force conducts vital training sessions, such as QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), designed to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify warning signs of suicide and intervene effectively. By educating our community about suicide prevention, we hope to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to become a vital lifeline for those in distress.

Spreading Hope: Inspiring Events for our Community

Through carefully planned events, including walks, concerts, and inspiring speakers, we aim to foster an atmosphere of hope and healing in Churubusco. These events serve as platforms for open discussions, community support, and breaking the silence surrounding mental health challenges. Together, we can promote a sense of belonging and encourage individuals to reach out for help when needed.

Nurturing Resilience: Youth Mental Health Support

Collaborating with local schools, we are committed to ensuring that our youth have access to the resources they need for mental health support. By promoting mental health awareness, offering counseling services, and implementing preventive measures, we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for our young community members to flourish and find strength in times of difficulty.
